To the person I used to be

Maybe, I'm not who you wanted to be
You wanted a different path to your story
But it's also you who made the decisions
No regrets even if it didn't live up to expectations

We may have had bumps and setbacks
Our heart has fallen countless times in the cracks
But we're still here, breathing and existing
Even if we still have to find the meaning

You may not see it but we've definitely changed
I hope for the better before you and I are estranged
The past will always serve as a lesson for the future
A learning moment for the person that we were

This is to the person that I was before
We survived, we lived because living is war
I always look back to remind myself constantly
That in that situation, there used to be me.
