Inference

Growing up believing in fairytales,
That always ends with happily ever after,
We feel betrayed at the first glimpse of,
Sadness or sorrow that seeps into our lives,
When the happiness we long for comes in bits and,
pieces we begin to realize how foolish we were,
to assume the same thing that doesn't last a day,
could last forever,
It is just a myth, believing in it, is so naive,
Reassure ourselves pain is the real deal,
Makes us more humane, more mature,
Thus, losing the value of joy,
Deeming it unworthy, silly, unimportant,
Making us reel in sadness, emptiness, pain,
Never really knowing life isn't always one of the two,
but always a blend of both,
The presence of one give meaning to the other,
and that true happiness is accepting the same.
