Defeaning Truth

Within the confines of his chamber,
Lies a woman divided by her buried dreams,
Bombarded by the thoughts she was forced to remember,
She feels defenceless in this obscure scene.

Herself she tries to fathom,
Is now drowning in sorrows and regrets,
Running away from her own phantom,
And hiding away from her own silhouette.

She was exhausted from ruining herself for others,
Now she yearns to be discerned,
Hoping this time she won't feel smothered,
By the habits, she is trying to unlearn.

Questions she never dared to ask,
From the life did not earn,
Escaping from defeaning truth,
That she was never meant to be born...
