The Shadow
Everybody carries with them within them
Within their human vessel,
In the duality of their soul,
The Shadow
Behind the mask you wear everyday,
There is a part of you that must be faced,
You think if you just look away,
It will begin to rot and decay.
Except it doesn't, it grows livid,
It even tries to take you with it,
Into the darkness it inhibits,
It swallows you into the forbidden
But as you push further down,
It will project itself upon your frown,
That you will wear when it's around,
To nag you back into the ground
To counter the effect of evil,
The one that's found within all people
Even you with your pure heart
You must accept your darkest parts.
Within their human vessel,
In the duality of their soul,
The Shadow
Behind the mask you wear everyday,
There is a part of you that must be faced,
You think if you just look away,
It will begin to rot and decay.
Except it doesn't, it grows livid,
It even tries to take you with it,
Into the darkness it inhibits,
It swallows you into the forbidden
But as you push further down,
It will project itself upon your frown,
That you will wear when it's around,
To nag you back into the ground
To counter the effect of evil,
The one that's found within all people
Even you with your pure heart
You must accept your darkest parts.
They are what makes you who you are,
This song must all fall apart,
Let darkness be what makes your art....
This song must all fall apart,
Let darkness be what makes your art....
