My Eternal Autumn Love

I have relinquished Spring,
and Summer's green,
And the crystal sparkle of a winter's white night,
For the season in between,
When the world is pleated into a casket of jewel-toned hues,
Laced within the breath of burnished gold,
O' my soul bleed,
Bleed out the colors of my spirit,
Let them settle into the soil of the earth,
Painting it with the depth of my inner beauty,
For this is the release I have eagerly awaited,
Months upon months under a glowering red sun,
The rustic fragrance of a spicy autumn breeze,
The rustling of his gentle whisper,
He brings me down to my knees,
As life and death pull at the center,
And I shed my defenses,
Like the green leaves on the barks of trees,
Ready to settle into a peaceful slumber,
Becoming one with my eternal autumn love....
