Ghost of Ambiguity
Evil loves shades of grey,
For the world is not black and white,
And while the truly good can see,
Stark lines where others do not,
Most people muddle through,
The best they can,
And this is where evil lives,
For deceit doubt and despair are the tools of shadow,
So hiding in a shade of grey,
Just one shade from pure good,
Is evils favorite trick,
And the worst mistake when Good is stupid,
Is to assume all shadow is evil,
Because evil hides among it,
Evil often triumphs because Good is Dumb.
But there comes a point,
When evil has scarred you sufficiently,
That it cannot hide in shadow any longer,
And it cringes under the light of truth,
Even if no one else but thee and thy shadow,
Really understand the stakes.
For the world is not black and white,
And while the truly good can see,
Stark lines where others do not,
Most people muddle through,
The best they can,
And this is where evil lives,
For deceit doubt and despair are the tools of shadow,
So hiding in a shade of grey,
Just one shade from pure good,
Is evils favorite trick,
And the worst mistake when Good is stupid,
Is to assume all shadow is evil,
Because evil hides among it,
Evil often triumphs because Good is Dumb.
But there comes a point,
When evil has scarred you sufficiently,
That it cannot hide in shadow any longer,
And it cringes under the light of truth,
Even if no one else but thee and thy shadow,
Really understand the stakes.
