Shadow
When we take our morning beach walk,
She playfully bounces ahead of me.
She is ageless.
Her shadow skin is perfect.
She is slim,
Chic in her cat-eyes sunglasses
And long sleeve T-shirt turned scarf as
The Gulf sun warms the sugar sands.
Her ponytail bounces from side to side
And I find myself swinging my head from
Side to side to make it bounce like hers.
She is very athletic.
No matter how hard I try
I cannot keep up with her,
She is always ahead of me.
Her steps are mighty and she is fierce.
Plovers scurry out of her way.
She is so joyful until we turn around.
Then she trails behind me.
She playfully bounces ahead of me.
She is ageless.
Her shadow skin is perfect.
She is slim,
Chic in her cat-eyes sunglasses
And long sleeve T-shirt turned scarf as
The Gulf sun warms the sugar sands.
Her ponytail bounces from side to side
And I find myself swinging my head from
Side to side to make it bounce like hers.
She is very athletic.
No matter how hard I try
I cannot keep up with her,
She is always ahead of me.
Her steps are mighty and she is fierce.
Plovers scurry out of her way.
She is so joyful until we turn around.
Then she trails behind me.
